I’m off to Taiwan and won’t be posting for a few days. But fear not, a battery of highly skilled guest bloggers is waiting in the wings to keep this site kicking. Wish me luck in my new life, and I’ll try to report back as soon as I settle down a bit.

Somehow I fear that Richard will become another “Ching Cheong”.
Best of luck on your new life, just don’t learn their dialect and you’ll be fine.

Chinese government will ban anchors from mimicking Taiwan-Hongkong accent. So if Richard, you wanna have a program on CCTV as Philip Cunningham does, don’t do it.
Good luck in Taiwan, and hope you will be a great observer of the developing democratic regime of Taiwan. Good or Bad, hope you will tell the story honestly.
I guess Taiwan will be soon overtaken by South Korea though. A fact: Not many Taiwanese graduate students are seen in US, while Korean students are everywhere. I am not sure if Taiwanese students are still competitive. If not, Taiwan will sink soon.
