He is in surgery now, and my thoughts are with him. Joseph has been one of my dearest friends and mentors for more than two years now.

I’ve never met them except through the internet, but it’s been such a bad year for Joseph and Ellen. It’s really hard to know what to say in these situations, isn’t it? I mean, ‘I hope next year is better,’ just sounds so trite. Could send a Valentine’s card maybe….
