It just might happen. What a bombshell. I’ve been wondering for six months now where the outrage was over Rove’s dirty tricks. Now it looks like it’s on the way, and there may be no way out. As Kleiman points out, the crime carries a 10-year prison sentence.
Kleiman also says if Wes Clark is shrewd he will jump on this bandwagon with everything he’s got. Let’s hope so. Fasten your seatbelts.

Personally, I would stand well back from the blast area. The view is better.
My bet for initial damage control? At trip to the woodshed followed by a timed resignation.

You may well be right. But keep in mind this was a serious federal crime. Prosecutors may not feel the woodshed and resignation notice suffice. It copuld get quite exciting. Let the games begin.

If it was Rove who was the leak, do you really think he would have had to call SEVEN reporters before one bit?

Not sure, but Wilson has said on the record he believes Rove’s the source. Why would any high official have to call so many reporters before one bit? Maybe the answer is that only a true sleazeball like Novack would go for such an obviously sleazy story, an unabashed dirty trick. And Karl’s the master in that category. We’ll see.

Good point, you answered my question. I can certainly see being ‘Rove shy’ as not beyond the pale, as he IS the political ‘hand behind the throne’ as it were.
