That’s what drudge says, in a one-line story with no link (sorry). If so, I ‘ll shed no tears. Of course, Rumsfeld and Powell will be next, any time now.
UPDATE: It’s true.

A peculiar hybrid of personal journal, dilettantish punditry, pseudo-philosophy and much more, from an Accidental Expat who has made his way from Hong Kong to Beijing to Taipei and finally back to Beijing for reasons that are still not entirely clear to him…

Ashcroft? Wow.
I had heard about Powell… and while I don’t always like him, he seems to be the most honest of that bunch, so I have mixed feelings about him going.
Why are Rumsfeld and Ashcroft jumping ship?

I don’t think Rumsfeld and Ashcroft are thinking about jumping ship, but they may be forced to walk the plank. If they’re fired, it’s a hopeful sign that the President is acknowledging mistakes and changing strategy. Otherwise, get ready for the draft.

Rumor now has it that Giuliani might replace Ashcroft. And of course, if Ashcroft and Rummy leave, it’ll be because they were asked to. Rummy’s departure’s a no-brainer, but Ashcroft is a surprise, if the rumors are true.
