It seems we’re going to be hearing more about Bush’s drunk-driving episode from 30 years ago. No, not about his arrest long ago, but about his man Alberto Gonzales’ helping him cover it up — and lying about the story during his hearings last week. This is a major development in what we’ve all been led to believe would be a classic slam-dunk. And if anyone deserves a slam-dunk confirmation, it’s “memo-man” Gonzales, right?

Pretty serious now.
Even if this can’t get him, don’t worry. Second term is traditionally treacherous enough. In one year or two, 2nd-term syndrome will work again.

I predict that the so-called liberal media will ignore this story completely.
Either that, or they’ll unearth evidence that Harry Reid’s aunt’s best friend’s daughter’s maid’s cousin once bought a six-pack of beer when he was 19 — and this will suddenly become the Scandal of the Century.

Don’t tell me, it’s 29 years ago instead of 30. Oh, the horror!
