It seems China’s Prude Brigade is offended by the growing number of summer skinny dippers in China. All I can say is, get over it. The human body is a beautiful thing.
(And, by the way, Americans are just as bad on this subject. That the entire nation should go into cataleptic fits over seeing one of Janet Jackson’s breasts reminds us of America’s deeply neurotic Puritan roots. In this regard, Europe is way ahead of us.)

Ha! A few weeks ago on my trip to Taoping it was hotter than hell hiking up the mountain with no shade. After doing a little cliff climbing the river started looking more and more irresistible and the next thing I knew I had shed my clothes and I was enjoying a dip in the fresh water (yes it does exist in China).
Of course, since the water was coming from the melting snow caps up above, it was downright chilly (about 42F), but it felt great.
I had gotten out and dressed just in time because when I climbed over the rock pile next to the river there was a young girl carrying vegetables down the the market and she was completely stunned to see me. I can only imagine the look on her face if she had seen my frolicking around in the river naked.

Dude, imagine the look on *my* face if I had seen it!
Not *all* human bodies. C’mon, admit it. Some people should just keep their frickin’ clothes on. Want me to make a list? (Gordon, I’m not singling you out here – you’re gorgeous of course).

haha…This is true Will. If “those” people were kind, they would skinny dip at night….late at night, under a clouded sky.

That’s the problem with nudism. The people you wish would practice it don’t, and the people you don’t, do!

Dude, you’ve obviously never been on a beach where overweight, hairy older people were choosing to hang around in Speedos. :-0
The human body ain’t always a beautiful thing, and the folks who design clothes sometimes earn their keep. Nude beaches are definitely one of those “great in theory, not so hot in practice” ideas. when you’re on one, but at least having them means you know what you (and your kids) are in for.
Doesn’t sound like the complainers were on a nude beach. In which case, they have a point.

To me the best part of the article is the quote offered by one of the nude offenders at the end:
“We can fully relax ourselves and merge with nature,” a swimmer who declined to give his name told the newspaper.
Anyone who has taught English in China, I’m sure, recognizes this type of writing as wholly familiar.
