Of course, air travel is one of the biggest culprits by far, and the amount of air travel you do (assuming 20,000 miles a year) adds abouty 27,000 lb. of carbon emmissions a year, so maybe they could add a line like “I worry that my descendents may not be able to fly to Beijing to experience China,” because that’s much worse than leaving the TV on all night from an environmental point of view.
