A peculiar hybrid of personal journal, dilettantish punditry, pseudo-philosophy and much more, from an Accidental Expat who has made his way from Hong Kong to Beijing to Taipei and finally back to Beijing for reasons that are still not entirely clear to him…

That blue-green Mao thing with the mouse ears would make a perfect shape for a children’s chewable vitamin.
Even better if you added green food dye to it, to stain the kids’ teeth just like Mao’s.

The blue-green thing looks even more evil than the portrait at Tiananmen Square. I wouldn’t let it anywhere near a child. It’s likely going to cause some permanent psychological damage.

What that blue-green creature MADE IN CHINA? Did some Chinese really make a mutant hybrid and name it “Mickey Mao”?

Permanent psychological damage? No, no, you see I’m thinking homeopathically. Those kids are already suffering damage from the Mao cult, and on the homoepathic principle of “like cures like” this would be a good remedy.

I don’t understand — do you light it, or lick it? And if it’s candy, would you nibble the ears first or go straight for the throat?
