This happened while I was away – I’m really devastated. Go here to read their goodbye statement. Yes, maybe they’d said it all, but it was still the funniest read in town. They will be sorely missed. I only wish they had left the old stuff up for all to savor; now it’s just a memory.
I’m in-between doctor’s appointments. I love the idea of universal medicine, but my experience today in Taipei revealed some of the less wonderful aspects of healthcare for all.

I had my issues with TTC – particularly with how their commenters tended towards the mean-spirited – but I have to say, it’s very classy of them to bow out gracefully, rather than dragging the whole thing out.

Oh my God THANK YOU for the archives link. I’ve been miserable all day, MISERABLE, because there’s no TTC to lift my spirits and I am damn pissed they took it all down instead of just leaving it there.
The best thing about it were the other comments left by readers. This is what made it special and some commenters became as much part of the TTC phenomenon as the writers themselves.
My own blog has just been blocked (unintentionally I am sure) and Sinosceptic has the same problem since we use the same host.

Hey Peter, I just got on Sinosceptic’s blog no problem. But he’s at Blogsource, not Squarespace.
Rant In Peace TTC.

I feel like it was kind of bad form to do it so abruptly. There were some golden moments on that blog which I would like to have saved. Like – What country you come from, German? and so forth.

*puts the tinfoil hat on*
Anyone else thinks they were (ahem) *politely persuaded* to do so? (Which would explain why the entire site is gone.)

@nausicaa: No, they just suddenly realized how wrong they were being, and they did this as a form of apology…
*tinfoil hat was on, btw…*

Yes Dongnaluo, I would like a PDF archive please!!
And yes, something doesn’t quite add up with the abrupt ending and removal within days but I guess we’ll never know.
