Jeremiah and YJ are hosting a Blogger’s Cocktail/St. Patrick’s Day Party in Beijing on Saturday, March 17th. (Note that St. Patty’s Day is on a Saturday this year…a fortunate alignment of events.) Festivities begin at 6:00 pm and will last until they throw us out of the building, after which we’ll be going out to a bar of choice. There will be a mixed crowd with plenty of Chinese AND Lao Wai in attendance. Food and beverages provided but further contributions of drink will not be turned away. All are invited: Friends, enemies, and fellow bloggers. Really. We mean EVERYONE. RSVP for directions and info to granitestudio@hotmail.com or leave a comment below. Look forward to seeing you there!

I wrote some comments earlier on 3 other threads, and they were all deleted within 5 minutes. My comments did not attack anyone, did not threaten anyone, did not accuse anyone of anything.
Someone explain why they were deleted? What are the rules of this blog?

Confused,
Not sure what’s going on. You’re the second person to say they’ve had problems posting comments. I think it may be a site issue and we’re looking into it.

Hey, Jeremiah – unfortunately I should be back in LA by 3/17 – otherwise you can bet I’d be there and wearing green!

I hope this whole Beijing blogger party scene doesn’t get too hip and exclusive before I’m able to join in… It’s lonely out in Xinjiang, with the lack of group dinners and all. Sigh.

I’ll second that, though Dalian’s not quite so far or so isolated. All these get-togethers are starting to make Beijing sound appealing though, frightening as that is.

Would have loved to come. Unfortunately the bank just took my learjet away. Must have forgotten one or two of the monthly rates. Anyway, cheers from Berlin.

Yes, “Jemery,” Jeremiah is a real loser, working on his PhD and achieving more in a few days than you will in a lifetime. As for me, I’m a total loser, too, working in a crummy job for no pay like all the other losers who visit this site. Yes, we’re all just white trash, as you say – uneducated, inbred trailer park losers. Right.
Thanks for sharing.

Jemery,
Ok…you can come to the party. Just no repeats of last time. You can attend on two conditions: 1) houseplants are for decoration, not “watering” and 2) Repeat after me: I will not fellate other people’s housepets. (Seriously dude, you almost circumsized my dog with your lip ring last time.) Follow these two rules, and I’ll let you back in the Studio.
Jackass.

So, do I love the troll post above as proof of his depravity, or delete it in disgiust in order to disinfect the site? Jeremiah, your call. If you delete (andf you have my blessing), delete this comment as well.
Yes, we are all the losers, while “Jeremy” in his comment shows us what it’s like to be a successful go-getter. I’m so jealous.

Would not a Ph.d in Chinese history, ipso facto, make one NOT white trash?
Standing alone, listening to ABBA does not make one white trash, though it is generally regarding as some evidence of same.

First, thanks to everyone who came last night. When I said “everyone,” I got everyone and it was a blast. I hope you all had as much fun as we did.
Second,
Seriously Jeremy (Jermy?), let’s call a truce and say that our chosen careers are off-limits for insult. You won’t write anything mean about PhDs, and I promise that I won’t go down to the local McDonald’s and make fun of you and your family while they’re working. M’kay?
