A peculiar hybrid of personal journal, dilettantish punditry, pseudo-philosophy and much more, from an Accidental Expat who has made his way from Hong Kong to Beijing to Taipei and finally back to Beijing for reasons that are still not entirely clear to him…

He spelled yours wrong, you spelled his wrong. It’s a draw.
Nonetheless, Nanhe is at times a real jerk over at Time.com (though I admittedly agree with him most of the time…). I encourage his insightful opinions here at the Pond without the use of “bad, bad China” references, etc.
That being said, I DO enjoy watching him stir up “the ultra-nationalist biggots” (as Raj calls them) over at Time.com.

That’s less of a circus than most of the threads at Time. The place has been heavily infested with mainland trolls from the very beginning trying to devalue the work of the authors.
(I believe China Law Blog also called for a boycott of the Time China blog at some point.)

Canrun,

But don’t you think thats pretty bad since that kind of thing creates a lot of negativity and can worsenb the whole extrmely crucial situation?
I mean, it almost seems like the work of the CCP itself. It just agrees with the CCP prop. that people are “anti-China”. It’s so bad cause Nanhey IS “anti-China” but he’s also intelligent so it’s not a good thing.
I wish he would not be so “anti-China” and give the brainwashed people a break, let them breathe a little like Richard.
They have been isalotaed in a propaganda bubble to such an extent, so we don’t need to insult them, its counter productive. I think it’s our duty as people responsible for what we know to be as productive as possible and not do thing irrationally like stri up the prop in the minds of Chinese.

CLB has changed his mind about the Time blog – or more accurately he thinks it’s gotten a lot better.

In the past, a Tiananmen picture was displayed on this site every year?

I’m also anti-big corporation and anti-fat cat, low value executive as well and those are all good things.
