It’s that time of year again.
Let’s hope nothing goes wrong, like last year.

A peculiar hybrid of personal journal, dilettantish punditry, pseudo-philosophy and much more, from an Accidental Expat who has made his way from Hong Kong to Beijing to Taipei and finally back to Beijing for reasons that are still not entirely clear to him…

Explosions and fighting in Beijing? I don’t see anything funny about rioting and social instability. O’Kane is just another racist China-hater desperate to hear any bad news about the country that will own him and every other white person in another decade.

“Wrong”!? What are you talking about, Richard? Last year was lovely. Absolutely lovely. Let’s hope that CCTV burns to the ground every year.

This has all the hallmarks of a highly coordinated campaign of violence that almost certainly is being masterminded by westerners who seek to disrupt China’s social stability. Reports are surfacing that simultaneous explosives detonations are occurring throughout the country, as the lunar calendar anniversary of a similarly and undoubtedly foreign-funded attempt to destabilize the country approaches. As a precautionary measure, suspension of the usual rights and freedoms enjoyed by the people may be required.

That is the reason why the weather is one of the main conversation topics among the English.
Or maybe there is another reason… ๐
