As I was writing my book, the most eye-opening topic I researched was the history of same-sex love in China (followed closely by the history of prostitution). As I was finishing the book a friend helped me prepare a brief podcast on the subject. You may find it very surprising:

Thanks for posting this. Fascinating stuff, and good job cramming a lot of interesting information in just a couple of minutes. I wonder how many Chinese people today know about the history of homosexuality in China’s ancient past.

Well, they sure don’t teach it in China’s schools. There is a lot about China’s sexual past that most contemporary Chinese are unaware of. A real shame, being denied knowledge of such a rich heritage.
