Since I’m writing about sports now, I thought I’d recommend this link to a high-action clip from the new Thai kick-boxing flick, Mach. (I’m presuming the movie’s Japanese but am not sure.)
I saw Bourne Supremacy today and loved it, but this looks way more intense.

it’s actually a Thai movie, as far as i know– i don’t speak Thai, but the language used in the movie doesn’t sound Vietnamese, which is the only other possibility my ears could think of.
it sucks. i grabbed a pirated copy here in Xiamen. the fight scenes are great, but the plot, bad guys, acting… basically everything but the fight scenes is terrible. there are some really funny lines tho in the little english bits that the foreigner’s speak. during an underground pit fight, the reining champion dirty-caucassion-monster-thug, after beating the crap out of a bunch of contenders, says something like: “Thai people are too weak! Come on!” and the hero, after fighting only as a last resort (as heros do), swifty knocks him out with one, crowd silencing kick. it was worse than those old Van Damme movies. but the chinese and south asians seem to farkin’ love it.
actually, there was one good part. the opening scene of a group of fighters playing a dangerous free-for-all game of “capture the flag thats hidden in a tree” is pretty cool.

The movie is called Ong Bak. It is availble in your local Chinatown, eBay, bitTorrent.
the action is great, the story middling and the main actor- an amazing athlete. reminded me of the old Shaw Bros movies.

The movie its better them all the kung fu movie. Its getting boring to watch it. Its good with a new style of fighting in the movies.

This movie is great. It played a few times on dish network and I loved it because of the great fight scenes, action, plot and scenery. It is a fresh, new look at martial arts.
