This is quite cool. Ben Condit, an American in Hong Kong, is doing what he can to help the cause with his “Kerry Cards,” which I’m counting on all visitors to this site to purchase and distribute to everyone you know. You really have to see them. Here’s what Ben says he wants them to accomplish:
Well, the cards are viral in that they can spread exponentially through US voters just like an epidemic – when people hand out cards, it prompts people to sign up for their own cards, who hand them out and prompt more people to sign up, and so on. The real power is the exponential spread – if each set prompts just two people to sign up for cards, a small of chain of 28 links can get a Kerry-card and the pro-Kerry message into the hands of every single US voter – that’s over 200 million! I got the idea for Kerry-cards whilst reading Malcolm Gladwell’s book ‘The Tipping Point’, which is all about engineering social epidemics using the power of exponential spread like this. Hopefully my cards will be contagious enough to help ‘infect’ my fellow Americans with the message that we need Kerry as president.
Go to Ben’s site to see the cards, and then order some. And if any HK expats are reading this, maybe you can order a set for my friend Conrad. Maybe they’ll help him to see the light.

If only that could really happen!
The rest of the world wants to tell you: America, DO THE RIGHT THING – VOTE KERRY!!!
Enough of his lies about Iraq, grabbing oil under the pretext of fighting terror, and wiping up fear among Americans, many of whom do not know better.
Kerry’s mistake was to talk about a sensitive war…he needs to fight a FOCUSED war, not a SENSITIVE one.
Focused on addressing the fears, real and imagined, among Americans,FOCUSED on stemming the rising tide of terrorism, and FOCUSED on addressing the CAUSES of terrorism – the real issue which America has not addressed (its slanted MidEast policy??)
Four more years of Bush means four more years of corrupt Chinese communism – in bed with the Reds, and cosy together!!!

Have things really gotten so bad in Kerryland that they’re reduced to pyramid marketing?

Thanks for the shout out, Richard.
I really like this form of marketing because it’s a non-intrusive way to market the Democrat platform – no more TV attack ads.
They’re name cards with political slogans, aimed at bringing about a change in the presidency and encouraging people to vote. Beyond that, I just hope they help get Bush out of office.

Conrad, I don’t think it’s a pyramid scheme — I believe the profits will go to the Kerry camp, though I don’t know the details. Order yours now.

Actually, we’ve ended up settling on donating all profits to the Red Cross in light of the recent school siege in Russia and the massive hurricane damage in the Southeast US and Jamaica. They’ve made several statements over the last two weeks stating they were in need of more funding (as usual), so they seem to be the best place for the money to go.
Our costs between printing and posting run at about $11-12.50 depending on the quantities we run through, so about a dollar on average will end up going to the Red Cross.
Two worthy causes for the price of one ain’t bad in my book. 🙂
