I’ve been reading this site for over a year but don’t think I ever linked to it before. It’s an absolute must-read for anyone interested in China’s pathological determination to devastate its environment through mindless dam projects, while also devastating the lives of those unfortunate souls who happen to be in the way. It’s also available in Chinese.

China National Geographic, a magazine modelled after its US prototype (not related), ran a feature edition about the 3-gorge dam project in 2003. A must read I should say. Though they can’t condemn the project given the censorship, they proved that it’s a disaster no less in gentle words.
Foot note: this is the standard proceedure Chinese journalists adopt to beat the censors. One needs to read between lines.
