A peculiar hybrid of personal journal, dilettantish punditry, pseudo-philosophy and much more, from an Accidental Expat who has made his way from Hong Kong to Beijing to Taipei and finally back to Beijing for reasons that are still not entirely clear to him…

He’s with his family in Beijing, according to Free Hao Wu. I think that Rebecca MacKinnon spoke with Nina Wu, if not Hao. Basically Rebecca and Ethan are saying that this is a time for silence and to let Hao be for a bit. But he’s out. We know that for sure.

They are officially 70 percent good guys, by their own estimation as the representatives of Maozedong thought. Therefore, as they have released 100 percent of Hao Wu, that means Hao Wu is 143 percent correct.
(100 percent divided by 70 percent…)

Excellent. Now we can work on other writers facing consequences like Ernst Zundel in Germany and E.A. Blayre III in America where the gov’t forced Amazon to drop his book titled “America Deceived”. Congrats again. Freedom of Speech, forever.
Last link (before Google Books bends to gov’t pressure):

Yes, because having your book dropped from Amazon is even worse than being illegally detained for months with no access to family or an attorney.
Idiot.

I did a lot of searching for info on this book that got banned. All I can find are hundreds of copycat comments, just like “Jessica’s” on numerous blogs, all crying out about this book being banned, but none offering any actual news report or evidence. So typical of Jessica to seize on a piece of irrelevant gossip to prove we don’t have freedom of speech in America. Meanwhile, anyone who wants to buy a copy of the book can do so.
Fascinating to see how trolls have posted the exact same comment about Blayre’s book on countless sites. And to Really (Jessica) it’s gospel! Not at all surprising. But to bring up this shit and compare it to the 5-month detention of an innocent man — well, what can one say? As Lisa puts it, you, Jessica, are an idiot.

A song for Jessica, by Monty Python:
How sweet to be an idiot
As harmless as a cloud
Too small to hide the sun
Almost poking fun
At the warm but insecure, untidy crowd.
How sweet to be an idiot,
And dip my brain in joy,
Children laughing at my back,
With no fear of attack
As much retaliation as a toy…
…I tiptoe down the street,
Smile at everyone I meet,
Fee, fie, foe, fum,
I smell the blood of an asylum…

Cracked me up 🙂
I’m so glad they released him, all 100%.

…E.A. Blayre III in America where the gov?t forced Amazon to drop his book titled ?America Deceived?.
I just want to point out, this book stinks. It’s very poorly written. For some reason, the mysterious “E.A. Blayre III” doesn’t like to start any of his sentences with articles (in the grammatical sense…things like “the” “an” “a” etc.,) which I found to be really annoying and distracting. The entire novel comes off as if it were narrated by a cave man or Tarzan.
Perhaps Barnes and Nobles, and Amazon, dropped it because of reviews by people who actually purchased the book and found it to be grammatically poorly written, with unbelievable one-dimensional characters (the supposed evil genius who is preoccupied with visualizing women involved in beastialty–that’s not the way evil geniuses work), and just all in all a lousy piece of fiction, which could be much more easily believed to be written by a 12-year-old boy for the amusement of his friends, than an adult trying to be a legitimate author. Too much action, not enough character development, no attention to details…in a word, this book is sophomoric.
I believe a lot of conspiracy theories, but after purchasing this book, I’ve concluded it’s drop from Amazon is not one of them.

in the internet age, a book is not dropped from distribution because it is badly written. internet commerce is distribution, not an invitation-only party pad.
