Via another of those great bloggers whose site I should visit more often. (We used to link to one another all the time back in the days when Gweilo Diaries ruled the East, and then, as so often happens among the early bloggers, we go off in our own directions. Thomas Wolfe was right: you can’t go home again.)

Thanks for the kind comment. Although just to be clear in this case, the post was made by another contributing blogger, R. Elgin. Gotta make sure my contributors get their proper credit 🙂
It’s amazing, though, how the early bloggers have gone in their own direction. Really didn’t think about until I was at Mr. Morris’ today, and remembered how a lot of the Asia blogs used to interact a lot more, with the Gweilo Diaries playing the role of hub. Almost made me misty-eyed remembering the day 🙂

That’s exactly how it was, with the occasional cat-fights between Adam and Conrad and me, and the ongoing feuds between the Hong Kong and Mainland bloggers. A link from Conrad back then was like gold – I couldn’t believe 100 people could visit my site on a single day! Kind of funny, how things turn out just a couple of years later.
