20 years old, tried and executed in total secrecy and without representation for standing up to corrupt tyrants. This was the doing of provincial authorities, and the one glint of optimism in the whole thing is that perhaps the central powers will take notice and demand justice. At least that’s what the young man’s attorneys are hoping. Someone should pay a very heavy price for what amounts to murder.

That is a horrible story of heartbreaking injustice for the man and his family.

I wonder if the fact that he was young and presumably in good health had something to do with the speedy execution.

Difficult to really comment wihtout knowing the facts – being convicted of murdering a police officer will in almost all instances result in the death penalty in China. The Supreme Court is not required to accept appeals from lower courts.
It is however, certainly a travesty that the death penality for capital murder still exists in China and elsewhere in the world.

Easy to comment if indeed the entire trial was done in secret, along with the execution. The comment is: Disgrace.
